Manager of the Nevis Disaster Management Office, Mr. Lester Blackett is hoping that St. Kitts and Nevis will sign on to an international Convention.
Mr. Blackett and the Nevis Island Administration’s Director of the Information Huey Sergeant attended a three-day forum on Using Information and Communication Technology for Effective Disaster Management.
According to Mr. Blackett only five Caribbean countries have ratified the Tapair Convention.
The Disaster Official says a meeting of ICT providers and Utility companies stakeholders will be held as a follow up to the forum.
