Judgment in the election petition case brought by leader of PAM has been reserved

Presiding Judge Justice Indra Harry-Persad has reserved judgment in the election petition case brought by leader of the Peoples Action Movement, Mr. Lindsay Grant.

The petition seeks to challenge the election of St. Kitts/Nevis Labour Party candidate for Constituency 4 Glen Ghost Phillip.

Mr. Grant has raised charges of illegal and corrupt practices, bribery undue influence and treating.

But Attorneys representing Mr. Phillip has asked the court to strike out the petition on the grounds that it is vague and vexatious.

Following two days of presentation of arguments by both sides which began on Wednesday 21st July, Justice Harry-Persad reserved her judgement.

While no date has been given it is expected that a judgement may be delivered some time next month.

Phillip is represented by Dr. Henry Browne, with Senior Counsel Anthony representing the Supervisor of Elections.

Mr. Grant is represented by Vincent Byron.
